The Anaheim Ducks made a notable addition to their roster by signing unrestricted free-agent goaltender Alex Stalock to a one-year contract. The team’s announcement came on Monday, revealing that the deal carries an average annual value of $800,000, as reported by CapFriendly.

Stalock’s performance during the 2022-23 season with the struggling Chicago Blackhawks demonstrated a remarkable comeback. Despite the team’s challenges, he showcased a .908 save percentage and a 3.01 goals against average in 27 games played, making 2.98 goals above the average, according to statistics from Evolving Hockey.

Over the previous two seasons, the 36-year-old goalie’s NHL appearances were limited to just one game due to a myocarditis diagnosis, and he also bravely battled through a concussion and ocular dysfunction during the past campaign.

He has also previously played for the San Jose Sharks and the Minnesota Wild, having been selected by the Sharks in the fourth round of the 2005 NHL Draft.
