Ismael Kone equalized for Canada in the 69th minute, but Jamaica was awarded a controversial penalty kick in the 75th minute when the ball struck the arm of Stephen Eustaquio. Bobby Reid converted the penalty kick to tie the game at 3-3, but the teams were deadlocked after Demarai Gray was sent off in the 86th minute for a second yellow card.

After a 3-3 tie in regulation time, the match went into extra time where Jamaica broke the deadlock again in the 108th minute when Nicholson made the comeback to win the series 4-4 on aggregate.
